1. Who we are
Genevia Lifesciences AG is a Swiss life-sciences company with its registered office at Alpenstrasse 15, 6300 Zug, Switzerland. We are the controller responsible for the personal data processed through this website.
For any privacy-related question you can reach us at privacy@genevia.com or by post at the address above.
2. The data we collect
We only collect what we genuinely need. The categories below summarise the data we may process:
- Identity & contact data — name, email address, phone number, postal address. Provided by you when you contact us, fill in a form, or subscribe to our newsletter.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type and version, device identifiers, time-zone setting, operating system. Collected automatically when you load a page.
- Usage data — pages viewed, time spent, navigation paths, referring URLs. Collected through privacy-respecting analytics.
- Communication data — the content of any message you send us, including support and press enquiries.
We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. We do not sell your data.
3. Why we process your data
- To respond to enquiries and fulfil requests you make to us.
- To send you newsletters and brand updates if you have opted in (you can unsubscribe at any time).
- To operate, secure and improve genevia.com — including detecting fraud and abuse.
- To comply with our legal obligations under Swiss and EU law.
The legal bases we rely on are: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), the performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures (Art. 6(1)(b)), our legitimate interests in running a secure and useful website (Art. 6(1)(f)), and compliance with legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c)).
4. Cookies and similar technologies
We use a limited set of cookies. Strictly necessary cookies keep the site functional; analytics and preference cookies are only set after you grant consent. Full details — and the controls — are in our Cookie Policy.
5. Sharing your data
We share personal data only with:
- Trusted service providers who host the website, send emails, or provide analytics — bound by data-processing agreements.
- Group companies of Genevia Lifesciences AG, where necessary for the purposes above.
- Public authorities, where we are legally required to disclose information.
When data is transferred outside Switzerland or the EEA, we rely on adequacy decisions or on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses with appropriate supplementary measures.
6. How long we keep your data
We retain personal data only for as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe; contact enquiries are kept for up to 24 months; technical logs are kept for up to 12 months.
7. Your rights
Subject to local law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Have inaccurate data corrected.
- Request erasure or restriction of processing.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests, including direct marketing.
- Receive your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior lawful processing.
- Lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or your local supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, write to privacy@genevia.com. We respond within 30 days.
8. Security
We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk — encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, regular backups and staff training. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to keep yours safe.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices evolve or as the law requires. The “last updated” date at the top of the page tells you when the latest version came into effect. For material changes we will notify you through the website or by email.
